This 3 Days Bwindi Flying Gorilla Safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a mountain gorilla trekking experience. Instead of taking on the 8-9 hour drive to Bwindi, you will instead fly to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, cut down your journey, and have more time for rest and activities.
Day One: Entebbe to Bwindi National Park
Our representative will pick you up from your Kampala or Entebbe residence at a designated time and transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your 12.00hrs scheduled flight with Aerolink to the Kihihi airstrip that is adjacent to Bwindi National Park.
The flight arrives at Kihihi airstrip at 14.15hrs where you will be met by our guide for your onward journey to either Bwindi north also called the Buhoma sector of Bwindi central also called Ruhija sector.
For those tracking the gorillas in Bwindi south also called the Rushaga sector, you will fly to Kisoro airstrip for your onward connection to Rushaga. Kindly note that flights from Entebbe to Kisoro are strictly in the morning departing Entebbe at 07.00hrs.
Your accommodation in Bwindi will depend on the availability of gorilla permits at the time of confirmation. Stay the rest of the day at leisure in preparation for the big day tomorrow! Dinner and overnight at your preferred accommodation.
Note – Your flight check-in is 1hour 30mins before departure from Entebbe and the luggage allowance is 15 kilos in soft bags. Excess baggage is charged at USD 3 per kilo subject to space availability.
Day Two: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Early morning breakfast and together with your packed lunch boxes, report to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Offices in Bwindi for pre-briefing prior to your gorilla trek. In groups of eight and under the guidance of an experienced wildlife ranger, go looking for the “Gentle Giants”.
The guides will take you to the place where the Gorillas were seen the day before and follow the trail to the place where they spent the previous night!
You will then follow the trail of broken branches and droppings to where the Gorillas are. Enjoy the unforgettable and emotional experience of your life as you come face to face with these Gentle Giants!
You will spend a maximum of 1 hour with the Gorillas. After your gorilla adventure, return to the lodge and stay at leisure the rest of the day.
Day Three: Bwndi to Entebbe
Morning breakfast, check-out, and end your stay in the “Land of the Mountain Gorillas. Depart with great memories of the moments spent with the fascinating Mountain Gorillas. Transfer to the airstrip in time for your return Aerolink scheduled flight to Entebbe.
Note – Your flight check-in is 30mins before departure from Kihihi or Kisoro.
