In this offer, your four-day vacation is centered at the heart of Nyungwe national park, located in the southwestern part of Rwanda. Nyungwe forest is gifted with a variety of Biodiversity and offers asylum to over 13 primate species.
In it, you will trek the Chimpanzees and other primates for one full day, uncover the different bird species In the Jungle explore the Rwandese Culture, and walk on the magical canopy suspended on the treetops.
All meals, accommodation needs, security, and transportation have been well-planned, but not forgetting an expert driver-guide. The trip starts and ends at Kigali Rwanda, with time well followed.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
At the point you choose to be picked up from, our company representative will be glad to meet you at the agreed time, and then start the journey to one of the most vibrant and gifted forests, the southwestern direction of Rwanda. The route to the park is marked by plantations, Rwandan natives, and captivating landscapes.
You will check-in to your lodge in or around the park for late Lunch, followed by a free evening of refreshment, and an optional nature walk, before dinner and overnight
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Today; brighten your morning with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, and then hit the road to the park headquarters for a pre trekking briefing and registration. Chimpanzee trekking is done in the morning hours, for hours. There are about 13 unique primate species namely the Columbus monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey-checked managabeys, Red-tailed monkeys, and baboons to mention but a few. With the guidance of an expert ranger guide, you will lookout for the apes for roughly 1-5 hours, with an additional hour of watching them enjoy their kingdom.
After trekking, you will have a lunch break at the lodge, followed by a rewarding 1-2 hour canopy walk experience. At the canopy, you stand a chance of capturing the breathtaking landscape, plants, birds, and primates to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight mark the end of the day.
Day 3: Bird watching and cultural experience
After an early morning breakfast meal at the lodge, you will depart for an early morning birding experience with a very knowledgeable birding expert. There are about 300 rare bird species and over 27 endemics in the Albertine region. The guide helps you identify the different birds, their sounds, body structure, appearance, and unique features. On your 1-5 hour search, these and more make a list of birds you may encounter; turacos, Grauer’s warbler and sunbirds among others.
You will have a lunch break after the exercise, a little rest, and then a visit to the local Rwandese community. This can last for approximately 2 hours, with a traditional dance, stories, and walk. At sunset, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 4: Departure and Kigali
Today, Wakeup like a king for a tasty cup of coffee, and the beautiful morning sun rays. You will check out of the lodge for a drive to Kigali for a drop-off. If time allows; there will be a Kigali city tour, with visits to the genocide memorial site and local markets.
