There will be a rewarding gorilla trekking, cultural adventure and golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park; chimpanzee trekking, Lake Kivu relaxation and canopy walk in Nyungwe forest, bird watching as well as game drive in Akagera national park.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

At the airport or Kigali city; our company driver guide will be glad to meet and brief you about the entire safari experience. Thereafter hit the road north of Rwanda to Volcanoes national park, via flourishing plantations, undulating hills and scattered homesteads in the countryside. Dinner and overnight stay are at the lodge late in the evening.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Musanze cave exploration

At a bird call; awaken your intestines with a hefty breakfast meal, and then join your guide to the Park headquarters for registration and briefing. Gorilla trekking is a lifetime experience, lasting for 1 to over 6 hours, plus an additional hour preserved for watching them interact, play and feed. You will also encounter several other primates before exiting the jungle for lunch.

In the evening; you have an option of remaining to relax at the lodge or explore the magical Musanze caves, located just 20 minutes’ drive from the park. After the one hour thrilling experience, return to the lodge for an evening dinner meal and overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and cultural adventure

Kick start your day with a cup of coffee and then return to the park headquarters for an early morning briefing, and registration. Golden monkeys are one of the most cheerful and beautiful primates in the world.

They spend their day playing, skipping from one tree branch to another and also feeding on the bamboo shoots. The trekking time lasts for roughly 1-6 hours and then one extra hour for taking photos. At sunset return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Akagera National Park

You will rise to a lip-smacking breakfast at the lodge, and then check out of the lodge for an amazing drive to the only savannah park in the country; Akagera national park. The drive is smooth, and has an en-route stopover for lunch, before getting to the park lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Game drive and evening birding

After breakfast, you will get to the vast savanna park of Akagera to look out for the hunters and the hunted in their territories. Mention of some of the mammals you stand a chance of encountering in the 3-4 hour drive include; lions, several antelope species, Buffaloes, elephants, zebras, and Masai giraffes among others.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some refreshment, before dedicating the evening for an encounter with the birds, and also learning of the different botany. Sunset means returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Drive to Nyungwe forest national park

You will Brighten your day with a Lip-smacking breakfast meal, and then check out of the lodge for a Transfer to Nyungwe national park; a primate jungle with over 13 different primate species co-existing. The drive comes with lots of breathing attractions to admire all way to your lodge in the park. Lunch is en-route, whereas dinner and a nap are after arriving at the park late in the evening.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk

At daybreak, great your intestines with a hefty breakfast meal, and then be driven to the park headquarters for registration and briefing by the park rangers; an activity that lasts for approximately 30 minutes. Chimpanzees share with humans over 98% DNA, with over 25 interesting sounds and charming bodies.

Guided by a park ranger; trekking those lasts for roughly 1-5 hours while encountering other primates such as the L’Hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked Magbee’s, and many more, birds, and plants. There is an additional hour of watching the apes play and take photos, before returning to the lodge for lunch.

Thereafter, you will have a two-hour walk on a fascinating canopy suspended at the tree top; with great views of the lush vegetation, birds and primates. End this day with dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Full day of relaxation at Lake Kivu

This day starts with a lip-smacking breakfast at the lodge, and then a transfer to the fascinating white sand beach of Lake Kivu; there you will relax, sail on a boat, swim and enjoy aquatic foods. There will be lunch at the beach, followed by a return transfer late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 9:  Kigali city tour and departure

After a lovely nap, wake up to a refreshing cup of coffee. You will then check out of the lodge for Kigali city; a place where you will visit the Genocide memorial site and some local markets. You will then have a lunch break, before proceeding to the airport for departure flight.
