This 3 Days Gorilla Habituation Safari only takes place from the Rushaga Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and no where else in the world. It includes a full 4-hour encounter with mountain gorillas instead of the normal 1 hour.
Day One: Drive to Bwindi South
Our representative will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Entebbe or Kampala. Drive to the south west of the country and across the Equator passing through several landscapes, savannah grasslands and amazing scenery to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park found in the districts of mainly Kanungu and Kisoro. You will have stopovers en-route for lunch and or to stretch your legs.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to more than a half of the existing mountain gorillas in the world. Gorilla safaris are very popular here but also, the rain forest offers great opportunities for birders as well.
Accommodation in Bwindi will be strictly in Rushaga sector or Nkuringo sector as these are the only sectors in Bwindi where two gorilla families have been put aside for the Gorilla Habituation Experience.
Day Two: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi
This is an exhilarating alternative to Gorilla trekking that instead of just one hour, you will have four hours starting from when you reach the nesting where a particular family of absolutely wild gorillas spent the previous night.
You will actually track them with their trackers, unlike regular tracking where you’re simply led to where a habituated group at a random site where they are roaming.
It’s an immersive encounter, at times tense, and often exhausting. Nonetheless, the rewards far exceed the efforts. That’s why it costs $1500. However, that is the same price that you would pay in Rwanda for the regular tracking of a habituated family.
Day Three: Return to Kampala / Entebbe
This morning, end your stay in the “Land of the Mountain Gorillas” and depart with great memories of the moments spent with the fascinating Mountain Gorillas.
Drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route. Drop off at your Kampala residence or if having an onward journey, drop off at Entebbe airport in time for check-in for your late evening departure flight.
