Day One: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart Kampala in the company of our tour guide latest 08.00hrs. Enjoy your scenic ride to Kibale Forest National Park through villages, trading centers, forests, down valleys, and over hills to finally arrive at Fort Portal Town (The only town with an English name in Uganda) in time for lunch. Continue to Kibale Forest and settle-in at your lodge awaiting dinner and overnight.
Day Two: Chimpanzee Trekking and Swamp Walk in Kibale
After early morning breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Tourist center for briefing prior to the chimpanzee tracking activity.
In addition to a large community of chimpanzees, there are 13 other primate species, including red and black-and-white colobus monkeys, l’Hoest’s, red-tailed, vervet and blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, olive baboons, as well as four species of nocturnal primates.
The birdlife is prolific, with approximately 400 species recorded for the area. Highlights include the crested guinea fowl, great blue turaco, grey parrot, green-breasted & African pitas, African crowned eagles and black bee-eaters.
Resting after lunch, partake a Bigodi Swamp Walk an initiative of the local people geared towards conservation in this area. On this walk, you have chances to see different bird & butterfly species, primates like black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabeys, etc.
There is also a variety of interesting plant species. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day Three: Drive back to Kampala
Wake up to the sounds of nature and the African forest. Have your breakfast, check out and bid farewell to Kibale for a return jorney back to Kampala. Drop of at your accomodation in Kampala or at Entebbe airport if you are flying out of the country.
